ADAM BRETZ FINALIST IN THE 1st (VIRTUAL) NJDFL TOURNEY Bretz Qualifies to Represent Kingsway in States

The KRHS Drama & Debate teams competed in the First Virtual NJDFL Tournament on December 2nd and 12th, 2020.

Due to the Pandemic restrictions, NJDFL official and coaches revamped the tournament to allow students to virtually experience the preparation for and the thrill of performance. Seven high schools and over 200 hundred students competed and submitted high quality work as the NJDFL continues to meet its Mission Statement even in these challenging times.

The Mission of NJ Dramatic & Forensic League is to foster a creative outlet for high school theater and forensic students, and to provide a forum for competition and constructive feedback. The structure of NJDFL tournaments encourages preparation, growth, and accomplishment in the arenas of drama and speech, which develops skills needed to succeed in life beyond high school.

Team Kingsway gave strong performances in these highly competitive events in the League’s first virtual tournament. Yet, Adam Bretz took the spotlight in the category of Dramatic Monologue with his stirring portrayal of John Wilkes Booth from the musical Assassins. Adam took 3rd place overall to qualify for the NJDFL’s State Tournament scheduled tentatively in February 2021. It is without a doubt that Adam Bretz will continue to live up to Kingsway’s motto and commit to excellence.

Future NJDFL tourneys are in the works as Team Kingsway resumes its drive for excellence in performance.
