Lauren Boerlin receives District's Distinguished Service Award

WHEREAS, Lauren Boerlin, Member of the Kingsway Regional Board of Education, began her service in 2007 as a representative of the Township of East Greenwich; and

WHEREAS, throughout her many years of service, Lauren Boerlin has served the students and residents of The Townships of East Greenwich, Woolwich, South Harrison, and Logan and the Borough of Swedesboro with fairness and dedication; and

WHEREAS, Lauren and Craig Boerlin, founded the Nathaniel Boerlin Scholarship Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to the passions of their late son, Nathaniel Boerlin, who was a sixteen year-old honor student and percussionist at Kingsway Regional High School when he tragically passed away in 2007; and

WHEREAS, Lauren & Craig Boerlin, through the Nathaniel Boerlin Scholarship Fund, have donated $32,000 in multiple student scholarships to Kingsway Regional High School seniors who have best emulated Nathaniel Boerlin’s passions for learning and music; and
WHEREAS, Lauren and Craig Boerlin have donated an additional $37,934 to various programs at Kingsway such as, but not limited to Marching Band Uniforms, the Kingsway Education Foundation, Middle School and High School Renaissance, Dragon Mascot, Hochman Family Scholarship, and various athletic teams; and

WHEREAS, Lauren Boerlin, as a volunteer member of the Kingsway Education Foundation, has facilitated the annual fall Harvest Gala and Jazz Bistro, two programs dedicated to serving the Kingsway community at-large while providing opportunities for our student musicians to perform.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Members of the Board of Education, do hereby extend to Lauren Boerlin our sincere and grateful appreciation for her dedicated service to the Kingsway Regional School District, and consider it proper and fitting for the Board of Education to honor her service with the District’s Distinguished Service Award.
