RETURN WITH STATE MEDALS FOR KINGSWAY

Kingsway traveled with its largest contingent of State qualifiers ever – 14! – to compete in the NJDFL’s State tournament at Raritan High School on February 25th, 2023, and return with five medals.

The NJ Dramatic & Forensic League’s mission is to foster a competitive and creative outlet for High School Theater and Forensic students, while providing a forum for competition and constructive feedback, as well as encouraging preparation, growth, development, and accomplishment in the arenas of theater and speech.

The journey to reach the State finals was not easy. Kingsway partook in highly competitive tournaments in Washington Township, Eastern, hosted its own tourney at KRHS. Haley Dukich captured 4th place for her dynamic performance in Contemporary Monologue.

In addition, Ms. Dukich, along with Emily Alberta, Harrison LaBarbera, and Morgan Meloy took 4th place honors in the category of Musical Scene with a wonderful and hilarious rendition of Going Back to Jail from Bonnie & Clyde the Musical.

Other State qualifiers include Omari Williams, Matt Alberta, Mahi Mopal, Marisa Landi, Luke Legg, Adam Alberta, Grace Palladinetti, Emily Ferry, Yulia Bidula, and Jessica Lewis.

Coach Andrew Young commends all NJDFL players and crew for their hard work and looks forward to the upcoming musical, Big Fish, and for the Spring Play in April 2023.

“To all students who want a little Drama in their lives,” invites Mr. Young, “auditions for the Spring Play are tentatively scheduled for March 21, 2023.” Contact Mr. A Young (younga@krsd.us) for more details.
