Assistant Superintendent's Office
Ms. Patricia Calandro currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for the Kingsway Regional School District. In this role, Ms. Calandro is the administrator in charge of the development, implementation, and assessment of the district curriculum and instruction. Together with the Chief Academic Officer and Instructional Team members, Ms. Calandro provides guidance, vision, and direction for district and building initiatives, including professional development, course development, Six Programs of Study, Academy Programs, School of Health Professions, Team Scholastics, and other special programs.
In addition to overseeing curriculum, instruction, assessment, and special programs, Ms. Calandro also provides oversight for and collaboratively works with the Director of School Counseling and the Director of Special Services as the system connects all areas of district programming and provides a cohesive experience at Kingsway so that the district's vision of Excellence can be realized.
Experience and Accomplishments: Ms. Calandro taught special education at the Black Horse Pike Regional School District beginning in 2002 and prior to joining the Kingsway family. During her time in the classroom, she taught a variety of courses, including English, history, math, science, and electives in small-group, self-contained, and inclusive settings. Ms. Calandro joined the Kingsway community in the summer of 2011 as an Assistant Principal for the high school. During this time, she established and implemented the Twilight Program for the district, an alternative program aimed at reestablishing the confidence and academic success of a select group of students. Ms. Calandro served as the program’s supervisor, during which time she guided the curriculum and instruction in all academic areas. In July of 2013, Ms. Calandro was named Chief Academic Officer (CAO) for the Kingsway Regional School District and served as the CAO in a shared curriculum service with South Harrison Township Elementary School (SHES) until the fall of 2020. July 1, 2021, Ms. Calandro was named Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, Special Education, and School Counseling.
Education and Studies: Ms. Calandro graduated with honors from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania where she received her B.A. in Special Education. Her undergraduate work focused on the study of the academic needs of students in grades K-12 with severe disabilities and/or high-incidence disabilities. Ms. Calandro continued her studies at Saint Joseph’s University in Pennsylvania where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with an M.S. in Educational Leadership. Additionally, she attended Rutgers University to continue her study of elementary curriculum development.
