It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news of the passing of Mr. Glen Coombs, Kingsway's former Director of Buildings & Grounds.
Fondly known to many as "Mr. Glen," Mr. Coombs dedicated himself to Kingsway Regional High School as the Maintenance and Grounds Supervisor from 1979 until his retirement in 2006. He was a cherished member of our community, loved by both students and staff. Those who knew him will remember his ever-present smile and the kind words he always had for everyone. In his final weeks, he found great comfort in the many heartfelt notes and memories shared with him by the Kingsway community.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Mr. Coombs's life will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Brantley Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Coombs's family has requested that memorial donations be made in his honor to Kingsway Regional High School. The donations will fund a tribute on the high school grounds, ensuring that Mr. Coombs will always be remembered on the campus that meant so much to him.
