Dragons Helping Dragons
What is DHD?
Dragons Helping Dragons was established in 2013 thanks to funds donated by the disbanded "Crisis Committee". Since that time, DHD has given donations totaling over $20,000, primarily through gift cards and meals, to families enduring extreme financial hardship, illness or death of a loved one, or other dire circumstances. Committee members host fundraising events to support this program, which allows our community to participate in paying it forward and vote before donations are awarded. What qualifies as a crisis?
- Homelessness
- Significant financial hardship
- Unexpected expenses related to significant medical issues, death in the family, loss of job
- Other requests on a case-by-case basis
Does DHD offer holiday assistance?
Although our program is primarily for crisis support for our Dragon Families, there may be times when we can provide meals and support during the holiday seasons if additional community resources and donations come in. At this time, we are referring our families to the following groups for assistance during the holidays.
