At Kingsway, protecting your child’s digital identity is just as important as protecting their physical safety. We utilize Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and routine security updates to ensure that only your student can access their academic data.

This section explains our annual account security protocols and the steps required to access Google Workspace from home.

Summer Security: Annual Student Password Resets

To maintain a secure digital environment, Kingsway resets all student passwords over the summer before the new school year begins. This proactive measure ensures that student accounts remain secure and that everyone starts the year fresh.

  • When: The reset occurs annually during the summer break.

  • How Students Get Their New Password: Your student will receive their new password credentials in the Genesis Parent Portal. Please ensure that you have active access to this portal, as it contains critical information regarding your child throughout the school year.

Understanding Duo MFA for Off-Campus Access

What is Duo MFA? It’s an extra layer of security that requires two things to log in: something your student knows (their password) and something they have (a registered phone number).

Duo MFA is ONLY required if your student is attempting to log in to their Kingsway Google account using a non-managed device. This includes personal laptops, home computers, or personal cell phones. It is not required when students are using their district-issued Chromebooks.

Registering a Phone Number (Parent or Student)

To use Google services off-campus or on home machines, a valid cell number must be linked to the student's Duo profile to receive login authentication prompts.

Flexible Setup: Parents have the option to register their phone number, the student’s phone number, or both numbers to manage these off-campus login requests.

How to Request Setup:

To register a phone number for Duo MFA, please submit a technology support ticket on our website. Our team will securely link the requested phone number(s) to your student's account.
