Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC) Information
Fallon Corcoran has served as Kingsway Regional School District Student Assistance Coordinator since 2017. Mrs. Corcoran was awarded the Kingsway Regional School District Educational Service Professional of the Year award for the 2020-2021 school year and is a recipient of the Multiplying Good One in a Million Award. Mrs. Corcoran is dedicated and passionate about assisting Kingsway students with reaching their full potential and supporting their mental health/social and emotional needs.
Fallon Corcoran earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Rowan University and a Masters Degree in Counseling Services – School Counseling Concentration, along with her Student Assistance Coordinator certification from Rider University.
Role of the Student Assistance Coordinator
Kingsway believes in a holistic approach when working with students and the community for the prevention of drug and alcohol use. The role of a Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC) is a vital one. The Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC) is a counselor available to students of every grade level who can assist with various academic as well as social and emotional concerns. Some include:
- Family Struggles
- Bullying
- Feelings of Depression or Anxiety
- Issues with Self Esteem or Body Image
- Substance Abuse
- Emotional & Stress Management
- Difficulty Adjusting to a Major Life Change
- Death of a Loved One
- Suicide Prevention & Self-Harm
All counseling services provided are confidential and voluntary. The counseling process focuses on growth and positive change. Please know that you and your child will have complete confidentiality and referral services if you access the Student Assistance Coordinator prior to any infraction of school rules. No discipline will be imposed.
