Concusssion Information

As a school district, our goal is to identify students with possible concussions and to educate students, student athletes and their parents on how concussions are caused, how to prevent them, how to recognize the signs and symptoms, what to do if they suspect a concussion, and the steps that are necessary to return a student to full academic and physical activity.

Beginning in the 2016-17 School Year, Kingsway will begin utilizing ImPACT testing for all middle and high school students in an effort to ensure all of our students are diagnosed and treated properly. Please read Dr. Lavender’s announcement by clicking here.

We recommend you read the information provided on these very helpful websites from the Centers for Disease Control regarding concussions as a comprehensive tool for concussion education:

Please feel free to contact the Nurses in our Health Offices or our Athletic Trainer for specific questions and concerns regarding concussions.
