Tony Barchuk Heart of a Dragon Scholarship
Provides two (2) $500 scholarships to graduating seniors (1 softball player and 1 football player) who emerge as team leaders on and off the field, and have expressed interest in pursuing careers as educators. Tony Barchuk has helped countless student athletes build character and better lives as a health & physical education teacher, athletic director, wrestling, basketball, softball and football coach, mentor and role model since 1979. He served the District for 37 years with distinction and has left an indelible mark on students and staff. This scholarship allows a grateful community to remember and honor him. The High School Football Field bears his name.

Ethel S. Martell Distinguished Service Scholarship
Provides two (2) $500 scholarships to graduating seniors based on their commitment to service, individual character and natural instincts regarding their concern for humanity. Ethel Martell was a beloved teacher who cared deeply about her students. She began at Kingsway in 1964 and retired in 2013, as the longest tenured faculty member in Kingsway’s history. Throughout her many years of faithful service, Ethel S. Martell has served the students of The Townships of East Greenwich, Woolwich, South Harrison, and Logan and the Borough of Swedesboro with fairness and dedication and whose love for school and community epitomized the slogan, “Once a Dragon, Always a Dragon.” The High School Store bears her name.

The Kingsway Education Foundation Scholarship
Provides three (3) $500 scholarships to graduating seniors based on individual character and their willingness to volunteer and lend the community their talents and abilities to benefit the community at large.

The Kingsway Education Foundation’s Academic Excellence Awards
The Kingsway Education Foundation’s Academic Excellence Awards provide (3) $500 merit-based scholarships, awarded on the basis of achievement. These three students have demonstrated an exceptional level of performance academically. We are very proud of their achievements and wish them a future full of happiness and success. We hope this money will help them with some of their initial college expenses.

Joseph M. Higgins, M.D. Memorial Scholarship
Provides one (1) $500 scholarship to a graduating senior who is a high school scholar-athlete and plans to study in the medical field and practice medicine or pharmacy in the future. Dr. Higgins was a respected physician and the father of three daughters who were scholar athletes at Kingsway. We honor Dr. Higgins by recognizing a student who has excelled academically and athletically, and will be going on to college to pursue a career in medicine.

Lorraine Grasso Memorial Scholarship
Lorraine Grasso began her service as a member of the Board of Education in 1980 and continued to serve, with distinction for 27 years. As an ardent advocate for students, Mrs. Grasso left a permanent and positive impact on this school district and we will be forever grateful. We honor Mrs. Grasso by providing a $250 scholarship, in her name, to a graduating senior who is of good moral character; sound commitment to serving others (especially children); and plans to become a teacher.

John Kodluk Memorial Scholarship (provided by KEA)
John Kodluk was a beloved teacher and coach, and his imprint will forever be on the heart of our community. We lost John far too soon, but he is the epitome of a person whom we should measure the quality in your years for he has left a long lasting impression on the hearts and minds of countless students, athletes and colleagues. We honor Mr. Kodluk by providing two (2) $500 scholarships to graduating seniors who consistently demonstrates positivity, integrity, an acceptance for all, as well as responsibility and a concern for the school and those around him/her.

Hochman Family Community Service Scholarship
The Hochman Family goes above and beyond each year to organize and coordinate the annual DRAGON RUN which is held in memory of Nate Boerlin. The student who receives this award embodies selfless giving to others. We honor Michael & Barbara Hochman & family by providing one (1) $500 scholarship through the Nate Boerlin Foundation.

Gilbert L. Justice Family Foundation
The Gilbert L. Justice Family Foundation was created in memory of Gilbert L. Justice, Jr. Mr. Justice wanted to support Kingsway Regional High School seniors pursuing college degrees in business or seminary studies. We honor Mr. Justice by providing two (2) $5,000.00 scholarships to graduating seniors who are pursuing their business or seminary degrees.

Jennifer Cavallaro-Fromm Impact Award
The Jennifer Cavallaro-Fromm Impact Award recognizes a graduating senior who has promoted greater sensitivity and awareness within our schools to the needs of students struggling to overcome significant barriers toward success. This role model is recognized with a $500 scholarship to assist in their transition to college.

Senate President Stephen M. Sweeney Public Service Award
We honor Senate President Stephen M. Sweeney by recognizing a graduating senior who demonstrates a record of initiative, leadership and service within the school community and intends to dedicate their lives to a career in public service. This graduating senior will receive a $500 scholarship.

We honor past Board of Education President James R. Mueller by recognizing graduating seniors who have gone above and beyond their everyday responsibilities as students to make a difference in their high school through their involvement, voluntary service, and inspiring leadership. This scholarship provides (2) $500 awards to graduating seniors.
