Mrs. Emily Virga

Mrs. Emily Virga serves as the Director of Virtual Learning & Instruction for the Kingsway Regional School District. As the Director, Mrs. Virga is responsible for the development and implementation of virtual programming, instructional technology and teaching training, and the administration of the district's learning management system, Schoology.  In this current educational environment, Mrs. Virga realizes the opportunity to innovate upon and improve our current modalities of instruction to enhance learning experiences for all children as we step into the future.  Additionally, Mrs. Virga serves as the District Testing Coordinator and oversees support and enrichment programs, including but not limited to Kingsway's district-wide Academic Assistance Program.

Experience and Accomplishments
Mrs. Virga taught special education for twelve years, including six years at Eastern Regional High School and six years at Kingsway Regional Middle School. During her tenure at Kingsway, Mrs. Virga taught mathematics and served as the Math Department Chairperson, the Academic Assistance Program Coordinator, and as a Data Tech Mentor. As a classroom teacher, Mrs. Virga was passionate about integrating technology to meet the individual needs of all students. As a teacher leader, she supported colleagues in the use of educational technology to transform insruction and meet the needs of a variety of learners. Mrs. Virga was honored as Kingsway Regional Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2015. Mrs. Virga transitioned into administration as the Middle School Assistant Principal in 2018. She served as the Science Department Instructional Supervisor, I&RS Team Coordinator, and the Renaissance Program Supervisor during her two years as Middle School Assistant Principal.

Education and Studies
Mrs. Virga graduated from Drew University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and then engaged in post-graduate studies focusing on Special Education. She pursued her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University where she graduated with honors. Mrs. Virga is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University.
