• Center for Disease Control & Prevention on How to Cope with Disaster and Traumatic Events:

     

    During a traumatic event such as this, the CDC wants you to remember to take care and pay attention to your own, and your families’, emotional health. By maintaining a strong emotional health, you will be able to think clearer, react to situations much more effectively, and support a strong work-life balance.

     

    Useful steps one can take to maintain a strong personal and emotional health are:

    • Take Care of Your Body – Try to eat healthy and get some exercise in when possible.
    • Connect – Reach out to friends and loved ones to maintain strong relationships.
    • Take Breaks – Remember to take some time for yourself to relax and unwind.
    • Stay Informed – Follow reliable sources to stay up to date on the latest information.
    • Ask For Help – Don’t be afraid to reach out for assistance, no matter the need.

     

    The CDC also asks that you remain conscious about the signs of distress. The signs can come in many different forms, from feelings of shock to changes in energy levels or sleeping problems and more. If these feelings of distress last for multiple days at a time please reach out to your healthcare provider for help.
